Our Founder, Our Foundation, Her Vision
Dear Friends,
I am Evie N. Thomas, the heart behind The Thomas Foundation, Inc. While our mission has always been rooted in compassion, equity, and empowerment—today, it has grown even more personal, and more urgent.
I am no longer just leading a foundation. I am also stepping forward as a survivor of domestic violence.
After years of silence, I am finally using my voice—and my story—to shed light on a truth that has lived in the shadows for far too long. Through my personal journey of survival and healing, I’ve come to realize how deeply our communities need support, not only in areas of education and economic empowerment, but also in navigating the silent crisis of abuse
behind closed doors.
The Thomas Foundation is now boldly expanding our mission to advocate for victims and survivors of domestic violence—especially those who feel invisible, unheard, and unsure of where to turn. We believe healing is possible. We believe every survivor deserves a future filled with peace, dignity, and opportunity.
Still grounded in our pillars of education, social welfare, and human rights, we are now amplifying our reach:
- - By offering trauma-informed resources and referrals to survivors of domestic violence,
- - By creating safe spaces for women, men, and children to begin their healing,
- - And by using storytelling—like my memoir, Beautiful Eyes—to inspire others to break the silence and reclaim their power.
Every day, I watch miracles unfold when compassion meets action—children lifted by education, families breaking cycles of poverty, and now, survivors finding their voice after unthinkable pain.
